We have several apiary sites across Canberra each with it's own unique floral signature.
Currently we sell two of these.
"Cooleman Ridge" this is our original site and takes in the flowering natives of Cooleman Ridge and the bounty of backyard flowers in the Weston Creek area.
"Federal" is our newer site encompassing the huge array of flowering gums on the Federal Golf Course and the lush gardens of Garran, Hughes, Red Hill and Deakin
Our honey comes straight from the hive. There is no heat treatment or filtering so you get the true taste of honey with all the good bits.
As we don't bulk batch either, every harvest will have its own unique taste dependent on what is flowering at the time. Spring honey is typically pale, mild and floral flagrant coming from Spring flowers and fruit tree blossoms.
Summer brings a more amber coloured, robust flavoured honey from the flowering gums and natives.
We also sell honeycomb either as packaged chunk honeycomb or for a special occasion such as a wedding, why not splash out on a whole frame of honeycomb.
Starter colonies (Nucs) are also available and come with a 1 hour installation/information session (you must be a registered beekeeper).
At the Copper Fork Honey Company, we take a wholistic approach to honey production.
We rescue and re-home bee swarms to ensure they don't become a nuisance or get destroyed.
We conduct education sessions at schools, to help foster an understanding of the critically important role bees play in food security and ecology.
We maintain healthy bee colonies and sustainably harvest honey only when appropriate for the bees.
